Radio-frequency Radiation Research Laboratory

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) offers Antenna and Wireless Communication testing services using the SG 128 multi-probe antenna test system and radio communication instruments. It is CTIA compliant and supports both TIS (Total Isotropic Sensitivity) and TRP (Total Radiated Power) measurements. It is ideal for testing performed on mobile terminals (phones, PDAs, laptops, etc.), base station antennas (CDMA, UMTS, WiFi, WiMAX, RFID), automotive antennas. All testing is conducted by experienced engineers extremely familiar with radio communication standards and Carrier requirements.

Outstanding Features

  • Dimension of the anechoic chamber: 7m*7m*6m.
  • Frequency range of the chamber: 9 kHz to 40 GHz.
  • Maximum size of equipment under test: 3.5 meter.
  • The multi-probe test system has 128 electrically scanning probes (The SG 128).
  • The SG 128 offers unrivaled testing capacity. It measures full 3D far field radiation patterns and antenna efficiency in just a few minutes, without compromising accuracy.
  • The SG128 is one of the fastest and most accurate antenna test systems in the industry, with measurement times under 30 seconds for passive TRP measurements and under 5 minutes for active TRP measurements.
  • The SG128 is able to perform real world testing. The max sample allowable weight is over 250 pounds. An evaluation using real humans is now a reality.
